GayUganda

If you walked out of my door, turned right, walked for a block straight up a hill you would see hundreds of the "humble" dwellings you picture here...not one fancy home (similar to those pictured here) and certainly not one high-rise.

I think we have much in common.

Hmm. I has some questions.
What do you propose be done about such situations?
The wealthy. Should they be apologetic about their wealth?
Must they be obligated to help those less fortunate than they are?
Yes, the contrast is absurd.
So, do the poor have the right to be resentful of the rich?
Must opportunity be fair and equal at all times?
Aren't the more deserving those who strive for their wealth?
Does not hard work succeed in the end?
Aren't some of the poor, willingly so?

@ Princess: Most of these people would declare themselves religious - either Muslim or Christian, I imagine.

OK: it is said that the Prophet had 2 shirts - one to wash, and one to wear.

Jesus, as far I know, had no home of his own (outrageous in a culture where the eldest son was expected to provide materially for the rest of the family and carry on the family genes).

Nuff said?

Slummers go well with ketchup, crunchy, like good chips.

Things aren't always what they seem to be...in my village the property is worth lots of money...even the property owned by folks with humble shacks on them...also, often, at least here the properties are owned for generations and keep broken up into little parcels as children inherit from their parents...then, they sometimes sell parcels off for money (sometimes they hide the cash and continue to live modestly) and suddenly there is a big house next to a humble one...fascinating how the landscape changes.

hi,

have been kind of missing in action.

Interesting observations you all make. Cant realy make any comments to add to them.

Princess, you feeling defensive because you are rich? Rich woman's guilt? Ha ha ha!!!

Now, I am kind of sure deT will take umbrage at my laugh, so, I am not going to comment more. But this, remember when you first entered cyber? You and the questions? Glad to know you dont know the answers. It is depressing talking to someone who knows all the answers. Like Ssempa...

Rich? Haha. No.
Not unless rich refers to the new capacity I have found within myself to question.
And yes, to question every thing. Down to the last minor detail.
The rich man is after all the one who asked 'why' and 'how' on his way up the ladder of success, is he not?

But you have sidestepped my questions, GUG. I am curious to hear your answers...

LOL take umbrage at your laughing Guggy darling? Bro, I'm laughing! Ha! Rich person guilt indeed! If we put her wealth in conext with my own country she'd be one of them fuckers who went to school at SHORE or one of those TOP schools...oooh snobs :P
And nooooooo have to go to USA because they're the only ones intelligent enough to have a Uni course. But GUG, shouldn't really laugh, cause her being rich and all, and if she's not right now she sure will be. You seen what course she is doing? Girl is going to be filthy stinking rich, and if you play your cards right you'll be able to mooch of her :P

I can answer your question!!!

NOTHING! SCREW THEM ALL!!!

Nah, in reality you should help, one person at a time. Take what you need and give back. Don't be a fucking stingy wanker, like so many ppl are but don't help so much that you too are suffering. That's what you personally should do. The Government should stop being a moron but that'll take forever, things get done much faster if real ppl help.

You're not obligated. But I hope someone kills you if you don't. Or that you get so eaten up with guilt that you get an ulcer and can't eat :D

That contrast is damn funny! How can ppl live with themselves though? You Ugandans are either blind or the most stingy cold hearted fuckers in the world!!!

No, the poor shouldn't resent the rich. And if you're going to resent, just resent an individual, not a whole group.

"Must opportunity be fair and equal at all times?
Aren't the more deserving those who strive for their wealth?
Does not hard work succeed in the end?"
Now you're just living in dream land.

And yes I know some homeless ppl who choose it as a lifestyle choice. Willingly (cause they be weird :P)

PS. GUG nevers answers questions because he is a tool.
