This is becoming ridiculous.
Here was the guy, accredited to go attend the conference, and the security and police say the accreditation is false.
Poor guy found himself inside another police cell for a few hours. Until the conference organisers, Co-sponsors they call themselves, sent a heavily stamped letter to the police. And he has been released.
I dont know what is happening, I mean, this is the depth of ridiculous.
So, what is going to happen once the conference organisers are gone?
shit, and I dont mean mine.

Thought this was interesting. From a South African web-site:
What is a Hate Crime?
A hate crime is an extreme expression of prejudice, expressed through violent criminal acts, committed against people because of the group to which they belong or identify with. Perpetrators of hate crimes seek to demean and dehumanise their victims whom they consider different from them because of their actual or perceived race, gender, sexual orientation, health status, social origin or other characteristics. The prejudice of the perpetrator is what makes a hate crime distinct from other acts of violence.
.................................
Notice it makes no distinction on whether the group perpetrating the crime is state-sponsored or not.
The difference however is that you cannot prosecute a "state" or its cohorts for hate crime against gays, using the judicial mechanisms of the very same state you're seeking to prosecute. And especially so when legislation is in favour of the state.
I am pissed off. Not in a good way, I must admit. Just grabs my goat and I cry, why me!
I didnt realy understand that term 'Hate crime', but now I think I do. Sort of the victim's bewilderment. I just cant understand why someone else thinks I deserve that!
But it is a silly world. Things like that happen.
