It is generally considered rude to show the finger to one's own sister. So, I will not.

“This breakaway Anglican faction is fundamentalist, homophobic and sexist. It opposes equal rights for women and gay people, and is allied with hard-line church leaders whose bigoted teachings are fuelling anti-gay witch-hunts in many countries.”
The condemnation comes from human rights campaigner Peter Tatchell, who on July 1 picketed a meeting at All Soul’s Church in
Tatchell was joined by his OutRage! African colleague Brett Lock and gay Christian and Ugandan gay rights activist, Kizza Musinguzi.
When they tried to enter the church, they were violently ejected. Mr Tatchell was punched in the chest by a church steward.
“Archbishop Peter Akinola is backing the state-sponsored persecution of lesbians and gays in
“He is orchestrating a wicked victimisation campaign against the Nigerian gay Christian leader, Davis Mac-Iyalla, Director of Changing Attitude
“The Archisbishop of Uganda, Henry Orombi, has stirred up prejudice against gay Ugandans in a society where anti-gay hatred and violence is rife. In 2006, he excommunicated a heterosexual bishop, Christopher Senyonjo, because he defended gay people against persecution.
“Jesus Christ is recorded in The Bible as condemning many sins but he never once condemned homosexuality. The anti-gay campaign of the breakaway Anglican leaders is a perversion of Christ’s gospel of love and compassion. These splitters are Old Testament fundamentalists, not true followers of Jesus Christ,” concluded Tatchell.
Kizza Musinguzi is a gay member of the Anglican Church of Uganda. He has witnessed first hand the homophobic campaign by his church leaders. Musinguzi was jailed and tortured in
“The church is supposed to be all-loving,” he said.
“It is not acceptable that it has one set of rights for straight Christians and a lesser set of rights for gay Christians.
“When Archbishop Orombi takes a stand against gay people, he signals to the population that it is okay to discriminate against gay people,” Musinguzi insisted.

If I am the said sister, why am I getting the finger?!
[wails]
Phew! It isn't me.
DeT, I believe that finger is yours!
Oh, yeah. Thanks, GUGGY!
More info for that article of mine. :)
Why?
This type of suppresion under the guise of religion should not be allowed any world in the world.
Hi Princess,
I see you are fine. Told you there is too much info on this blog.
deT is wondering why the finger!!!!!! Dont enlighten her!
Whozhe, I agree. It should not happen. But it seems to be politically correct in Uganda, and much of Africa for that kind of thing to happen.
Why are you mad at me?
[exaggerated sigh!!!!!!]
I am not mad at you sis. One of the cultural differences. Giving you the finger doesnt mean I am mad now,...
You are always giving it to me, arent you?
You Aussies seem to be pretty plain spoken and open. Nothing to read behind the words, everything should be clear?
Oh well, that is why you shout at me and I dont lose my cool. And I dont know whether you would realise it when I lose my cool. Though, again, you might!
So in your country giving someone the finger isn't considered rude in anyway? I don't remember ever giving you the finger. Although I probably have and just don't remember :-(
Yes that's right, we Australians are plain spoken and open. And too lazy to read between the lines. Why should we? If you want to say something then just say it and if you want to keep something private then don't go putting things behind lines. Keep them far away from the lines.
You'll never lose your cool. I could call you a disgusting faggot and you'd probably not even blink. Although I'd be disappointed with myself for stooping to such a lowly insult. 'Cause of course I would neyvah call you that...
And I wasn't mad at you this time. Wasn't particularly mad last time either, just a little sad.
I love you all... finger or no finger :-)
Hi Kiiza,
you are welcome.
