Uganda's Homosexual Sex Offender’s Register!

I don’t think Uganda has a Sex Offenders registry…, Well, I don’t know.

But, we can start somewhere. And we shall start with the Uganda Homosexual Sex Offender’s Register..,

On conviction for Homosexuality and related offences, one has a duty to report themselves at certain times.
Yeah, this is to catch those who drop out of the Life Imprisonment and Death Row catch alls. We need to be in the know where these terrible, dangerous people are, and especially keep them away from the ‘vulnerable’.

We will start with the obvious: The Anti-Homosexuality Act, 2023 of the Republic of Uganda states

Part IV—MISCELLANEOUS

12.   Disqualification from employment upon conviction.

A person who is convicted of the offence of homosexuality or aggravated homosexuality shall be disqualified from employment in a child care institution or in any other institution which places him or her in a position of authority or care of a child or a vulnerable person until such a time as a probation, social and welfare officer determines that the person is full rehabilitated or no longer poses a danger to a child or a vulnerable person.

13.   Disclosure of sexual offences record

       (1) A person convicted of an offence under this Act shall disclose the conviction when applying for employment in a child care institution or any other institution which places him or her in a position or care of a child or other vulnerable person.

       (2) A person who contravenes subsection (1) commits an offence and is liable, on conviction, to imprisonment for a period not exceeding two years and the employment of that person shall terminate.

Does this look well and good? Above board? We are seeking to protect the ‘vulnerable’ from the bad, very, very, extremely bad homosexual persons? Shame, at least the ACT dares to call us human beings. But, we are dehumanised in essence.

I digress. Examine the details.

It seems as if ‘Homosexuals’ in Uganda are barred from employment in child oriented facilities.
The problem with red herrings is that they BLIND the audience. THE OTHER GROUP THAT IS SPECIFIED IS VULNERABLE PEOPLE.

Who are these vulnerable people? Uganda’s Anti-Homosexuality Act 2023 specifies, with some glee.

Part 1—Preliminary

Interpretation

“vulnerable person” means a person in need of special protection as a result of age, sex, illness, physical or mental disability, social or personal status or other status and includes a refugee, an internally displaced person, a stateless person, an asylum seeker, a victim of gender based violence and an illiterate or elderly person”

So, say again, how broad is that restriction from official employment of the ‘rehabilitated’ homosexual in Uganda?

The deities help LGBTQ Ugandans, inside and out of prison.
